Crackling, popping, and squeaking noises that can be heard while walking across a carpet installation is unusual and will occasionally generate a consumer claim. Carpet cushion is designed not only to provide comfort but also sound dampening insulation while walking on the carpet. Some of today’s cushions are also designed with double-sided moisture barriers that help keep spills from penetrating into the housing structure.
