Dye Lot Differences
What you need to know
Manufacturers change dye lots when they are no longer deemed close enough in color to seam together. Carpet from different dye lots can be close to manufacturing standards and still show color contrast. Color can vary as much as a half step on the AATCC Gray Scale (10%) and still be within manufacturers’ tolerance.
