Pile Reversal – (Pooling – Watermarking)
What you need to know
The most controversial form of pile reversal (commonly called pooling or watermarking), is characterized by sharp changes in pile direction at random, wavering lines called interfaces. It occurs most often in densely tufted or woven pile designs causing the carpet to appear wet, even though it’s not. The pile at the interface lies in opposite directions, without regard to the carpet pile direction created during manufacturing.
