What you need to know
Cork classified as a wood flooring product although it is not technically considered a hardwood. It comes from the bark of a cork oak tree and it is harvested which does not require the cutting down of the tree.
What is cork: Cork is the name given to the suber or suberose tissue formed by the phellogen of the cork. It is the bark that acts as the tree’s epidermis to the Oaktree species, Quercus Suber.
