Poor Heat Set – Twist Loss
What you need to know
Heat setting is a process performed on carpet yarns to stabilize the yarn in its twisted form. This process provides twist retention and ensures no change in size or shape of plied yarns in a cut-pile carpet. Batch heat setting is performed in an autoclave oven. Continuously heat setting occurs in a Superb or Suessen unit using super-heated steam and pressure.
