What you need to know
Overheated seams occur during seam construction when too much heat is applied to the seam resulting in distortion of the backings and/or distortion of yarns along the seam. Too much heat can result from the seam iron being set on too high of a setting. Moving the seam iron too slowly along the seam can also trap heat from the iron over the seam tape.
